Wild Turkey Rare Breed 116.8
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted4.75. One of my favorites. Love the punch of this, but pretty easy to drink, despite the high proof. Hint of mint, some vanilla. Just really nice.
Rye — Kentucky, USATasted4.0. Good, not great. Makes a good cocktail. Still prefer bonded ryes for roughly same price.
Glenfiddich 15 Year Solera Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, ScotlandTasted4.25. Very pleasant and smooth. Fruit on nose with a scant amount of peat. Fruity on tongue, slight pepper. Very nice all around.
Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire
Peated Blend — ScotlandTasted3.0. Gigantic disappointment. Tiny bit of smoke on nose. Not much taste or body at all. Thin, weak. As good as season 8. Edit-it does make a nice hot toddy. I think it really shines there.
Laphroaig 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandTasted4.75. Just absolutely love this whisky. Peat smoke and brine on nose. Smoky finish. I do catch the “band-aid” a little. Nice to sip in the evening to relax. Like a warm blanket next to a campfire on a brisk night.
Old Grand-Dad 114 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted4.5. Really enjoy this bottle. Loonngg finish. Spicy and some heat. Adding a small amount of water really changes it up. Can’t wait to get another bottle.
Beefeater London Dry Gin (47%)
London Dry Gin — EnglandTastedMakes exceptional cocktails. I use in Negronis, Corpse Reviver #2s, Gimlets, and martinis. The slightly higher proof really shines there. I just absolutely love the nose of this gin.
Gordon's London Dry Gin (40%)
London Dry Gin — CanadaTastedReally love the smell of this gin. Makes a great martini as well as other cocktails. If you take into account the price, it is a 5.
Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USATasted4.5. Best rye for the price. Great neat and makes a great cocktail as well.
Ardbeg 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandTasted4.5. Damn, this is really nice. Not too over powering, although I love a real smokey, peated scotch. Has a dry finish. Going well the cigar I’m smoking.
