Tastes

A little spicy at first, but levels out quickly. This is really nice! Got it for cocktails but tried it straight first and was very impressed.

I’m not typically a scotch person; I drink bourbon. That being said, I do like this. When they say it tastes like bacon, they weren’t far off. The first sip was a little off-putting, but it quickly grew on me as my palate adapted. I imagine my score will improve in time.

Subtle Booker’s peanut flavor that mellows out quickly to full, spicy flavors. It’s nice to see this and Donahoe’s stray away from the extreme peanut flavors from last year’s batches. Definitely a spicier bookers, but not in a bad way.

A peanut-butter, caramel richness that is reminiscent of bookers at a lower proof point. If you’re a bookers person, this is for you. After a bit, the nose and palate hit me with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor. Like a churro from Costco. Not extremely sweet at all.

Sweet and warm. Flavor that changes with each sip. An awesome initial heat that permeates slowly. One that deserves time and consideration. Definitely a step up from regular blantons.

Deeo flavor that sends a shockwave across the palate. A complex sipper that is a nice step up from the fusion.

Quick hit that lightly fades to sweetness. Great body and presence. Complex. I really enjoy this one.

Freshly opened bottle, but I get a taste like chips ahoy. Or, better yet, those cookie ice cream sandwiches. Very good.

Just a good, safe bourbon. The Weller Special Reserve of the Smoke Wagon line. Just very easy and nearly passive.

For the price, I don’t think you could anything better. I was going to use the qualifier, “much,” but it is that good. Heavy peanut notes, warm, full. Very impressed by this.
