Tastes

Just a damn good dram. The bartender poured me this at the Greenbrier and I could identify the smell of it through my mask (tasting during COVID-19). Complex, salty, Smokey, and just offensive enough to challenge your palate to experience something new. The Lagavulin experience is existential. Upon my first tasting, I could still sense the spirit on my palate long after dinner was finished something like 15 minutes after my last sip. It’s just special.

Cinnamon, spice, vanilla, and oak notes shine. Both sweet and bitter. There is a lovely drying finish of oak and mint. A very nice expression, though I much prefer the 18-year.
