Very smooth! Not that you would, but try a Old fashioned with this and prepare to be blown away!

What can I add! Very smooth and tasty! Burn is minimal and is non-existent after the first sip. Chewy mouthfeel and lingering finish can only be topped by its brother the Yamazaki 18.

Nose: Mustard oil smell, Taste: Smooth at first, but in a oily type of way. I cannot drink this! Yuck.

Nose:fruity, vanilla, honey. taste: Very short finish, orange zest, some peppery spice. the more I drink it, the sooner I want to stop.

There are at least two versions of this that I have tasted. One before 2012-2013 and one the new re-release last year. Side by side tasting reveals more spicyness in the new one. The talisker punch is still there but more pronounced in the new release. Definitely like the new release and the price. This is the dram that takes you on a journey for less than the price of a train ticket. It's $42 at Costco, so grab at least two to savour. Very well balanced blend that compliments any spicy snack you are having.

This reminds me of Yamazaki 12 & 18 even though they are not the same breed! Very unique!

Sweet sherry nose but subdued- not that smooth, vanilla-fruity-very short finish-48% does open up with some air, cool peppermint like flavor-not really impressed with Balvenie. Somewhat like Green Spot but has a more burning finish.
