Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 25, 2021 (edited March 4, 2021)Another great bourbon from old forester. Not as good as the 1920 in my opinion, but different enough to warrant having a bottle of both. Where the 1920 is maybe a bit more desserty and has a stronger bite, this one one is definitely oakier. Reminds me of woodford double Oaked. With this I get a sweet oak flavor with some chocolate maybe or even a hint of mocha. I’ve heard some say a s’more and I kind of get that. Like not as sweet as a s’more but definitely that burnt marshmallow chocolate thing going on. I do wish it was a little cheaper with the lower proof or that it had a higher proof, but I know double barreling raises manufacturing costs so I get it. -
I really love this one. It’s awesome neat and stands up great on ice as well. High enough proof to not taste watered down and gives a pleasant burn. Nose is one of my favorites with a sweet dessert of caramel, some banana, and maybe creme brulee. All of that shows up in the palate as well. The finish is long and lingers with a sweet caramel taste. This one isn’t cheap at around 60 bucks but it shoots above its price range in my opinion.

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 17, 2021I like it, an easy smooth drinker, but it does feel a bit thin. Maybe because I’ve been drinking higher proof bourbons lately, this leaves more to desire. Not quite as sweet as I would have expected either. -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited November 20, 2020)Might be my favorite bourbon considering the cost. Sure availability can be an issue, but this is a delicious bourbon let alone for 30-35 bucks. So far the only bourbon I’ve found to be as good is Blanton’s which is pretty damn hard to come by and expensive. You get some nice brown sugar and cherry with a good amount of oak from the 10 years aged. Pretty sweet, but I like that in a bourbon. It isn’t necessarily breaking any boundaries, but it does everything I want in a bourbon perfectly.
