Booker's Bourbon Batch 2021-04 "Noe Strangers Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 12, 2022 (edited September 17, 2022)This is a really good batch. Corn, cinnamon and sweet oak on the nose. Peanuts and caramel on the pallet. Spicy and long finish. The corn flavors are much more pronounced in this batch. -
This is my first time trying it and even though it’s very good, I was a little underwhelmed. The nose has vanilla and maple syrup. The palate is a little thin, but of course it’s only 47.5 abv. Not over oaked and plenty of orange marmalade. Very long finish and we’ll balanced. Sampled the 2018 year.60.0 USD per Pour

TX Blended Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Texas, USA
Reviewed April 8, 2022 (edited April 24, 2022)The nose has a sweet butterscotch. The palate is crème brûlée, vanilla and the finish has a strange burnt popcorn kernel. No oak and once I noticed they had other grain spirit it made sense because it has a very light characteristic to it. Here in Texas and I had to give it a try, but I don’t need another pour of this whiskey. -
Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 13, 2022 (edited March 14, 2022)Because it’s only 40% abv it takes a bit of work to get the scents. You get corn and vanilla on the nose. The palate comes in with a good amount of oak, more corn, rye spice and a medium finish. For under $20 a bottle ya can’t complain! -
Arran Sauternes Cask Finish Single Malt
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed March 8, 2022 (edited March 9, 2022)I really enjoyed this one. the sauternes cask brought about a lot of character, but still allowed the malt to shine through. It almost reminded me of champagne in a way that I felt like bubbles were dancing around in my mouth. A little higher abv helped keep this whisky interesting.
