Balvenie Triple Cask 16 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 14, 2022 (edited June 15, 2022)The nose has pear, peaches and honey suckle. The palate is the best part of the sip, honey and oak dominate. the three different oaks really give it a lot of complexity with the sherry cask being the least dominant in the pour in my opinion. Really really nice scotch. -
You can smell the youth on the nose right away. The palate is very smooth which Makes sense since it’s 40 abv and an interesting oak flavor, almost like it was only toasted and not fully charred. Very minimal spice on the finish with tangerine orange to end things off. Curious why they decided on this low abv.

Virginia Distillery Co. Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
Blended Malt — Multiple Countries
Reviewed May 24, 2022This is a pretty interesting blend of scotch and their own distillate. A lot of chocolate notes and sweetness from the port finish. Not my favorite, but way better than high west’s campfire for sure. -
