not much character to this rye and you can taste it's youth. light grain with some sweetness.

this is a local distillery from my hometown of San Diego and unfortunately this is a drain pour. saw dust, grain and rubbing alcohol. thank goodness I tried it at a friend's house because I wouldn't spend money for a shot or bottle.

This is from Batch 41. On the nose there is leather, rye spice and a whiff of vanilla. The mouthfeel is full with tastes of butterscotch, cola and rye grain. The heat from the alcohol is spot on for this 57% abv not too hot. This isn’t overly sweet since it’s a high rye mashbill and a relatively long finish. Very tasty

Cedar oak and light caramel on the nose. Vanilla and delicate spice on the palate. The finish has green tea and peach with medium finish.

This batch is different from many batches I’ve had. The nose is not in your face with ethanol and it has a zesty grass fragrance to it. The pallet has orange, leather and tartness to it. Finishing off with a floral notes and a burn towards the end. Not the best batch I’ve had, but still enjoyable.

Wow, this bottle is a monster and probably the highest proof I have had in a whiskey, clocking in at 136.2%. It took me a while to sit with it to really appreciate what it was. Right off the bar the nose tells me that this is produced by Willett. Those nose has a lot of ethanol and it has that Willet all spice characteristic. HOT! Orange zest, cherries and oak are on the palate. Very spicy that lingers on a very long finish. Oak is very prominent on the finish too. Even for someone that enjoys high proof bourbons, this whiskey was challenging for the first few sips.
