Widow Jane Whiskey Distilled From a Rye Mash Oak & Apple Wood Aged
Other Whiskey — USA
Reviewed September 24, 2021Really smooth, and definitely basically a (largely) toned down version of the 10 year with a lot of spice -
Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 24, 2021 (edited February 4, 2022)Soooooo good, the only reason it’s not a 4.5 is because I’m not a huge fan of the wild turkey flavor undertone. But it’s not too harsh and its plenty sweet and peppery. Definitely a flavor bomb -
Talisker 10 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed September 23, 2021 (edited September 28, 2021)Delicious whiskey, but one of the smokier whiskies I’ve ever had. Definitely a nice, warm sweet barley flavor with a smooth smoke overtone -

Calumet Farm 10 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon

Oban 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 14, 2021 (edited October 28, 2021)Has a nose of soft, sweet barley, notes of berries? Starts out incredibly smooth, and builds in flavor, peatiness and general intensity as you sip. Ends with a bitter, dry finish Such a nice, warm, welcoming nose! Smooth for sure, but a little too much peat for my liking. That being said, I almost felt transported to Scotland upon taking a sip -
Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon
