Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon

Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 9, 2021 (edited February 10, 2022)Very fruity when side by side with the 14 year port finish and the Lagavulin distillers edition. Good stuff -
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 9, 2021 (edited October 6, 2021)Feels more rich when side by side with the d’or Sauternes cask. Definitely getting the port. Really nice. Lagavulin distillers edition has so much more smokiness and is way more complex so leaning towards that in this tasting -
Lagavulin 2005 Distillers Edition (Bottled 2020)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 7, 2021Really nice light sweetness balances out the smokiness. Great scotch but really high price compared to the regular 16 year. Glad I got to try it though -
Whistlepig 10 Year Straight Rye Barrel Strength
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed June 22, 2021Really smooth for the proof. Nice mouthfeel and the rye spice is just right and not overpowering. Side by side with the 6 year really makes it shine too. -
Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon (2021 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 30, 2021 (edited June 11, 2021)Tasting side by side with the barrel strength rye and regular Michter’s makes me appreciate this so much more than the neck pour I had. I like how it’s body and flavor holds up to the high proof of the barrel strength and is worlds away from the harshness of regular. Sweeter and smoother than that rye. Excellent. Wouldn’t pay $149 again though….
