Macallan Lumina
Single Malt — Highlands , Scotland
Reviewed February 5, 2019 (edited January 17, 2022)I had this at a Macallan tasting on a Caribbean cruise. A duty free product only I was told. NAS. Three casks used in the maturation I was also told. An oaky vanilla prominence on the nose and taste. Moderately complex. A cinnamon and pepper spice finish. -
Glenfiddich 15 Year Solera Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 22, 2019 (edited June 7, 2019)This dram has the character of a Speyside whiskey that leans toward the dessert end of the spectrum. Dried fruit and citrus on the nose with honey notes bringing it all together. Super smooth taste that grows in complexity as it sits on the tongue. Perhaps some smoke and leather on the finish. Adding water moves the finish flavors up to be experienced earlier in the taste. A pleasant sip indeed. -
George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2018)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 14, 2018 (edited December 20, 2018)A rich aroma like walking into a kitchen where grandma is making caramel candies and sugar cookies. Oak, vanilla and slight licorice on the tongue with a pepper and cinnamon finish.
