Eh, it’s a typical Irish. Sugary sweet toffee and pretty thin. I liked it more than Jameson, and probably more than Kavanaugh, but I had this right after the Sexton and it did not compare.

Dumped this dram in the sink after a few courtesy sips. Smoky, sulphured, harsh. Kinda like Evan Williams Black, but more disappointing because it took 15 years to make this crap.

I wanted it gone after a few drams. The tropical fruit was nice, especially banana, but it was way too sweet. It didn’t help that it was thin and disappeared from the palate as soon as I sipped.

This is an extremely accessible, affordable and enjoyable blend, especially considering the low price point.

Very nice malt. Smooth as butter. Not quite as smooth or full as the Glenlivet 18, but a good companion for the weekend.

Second taste edit: the nose is floral and fruity. The palate has a sharp fermented red fruit character. It’s nice, and the finish is long, but I prefer the oak and barley character of the Double Cask, which I’m having side by side. Very enjoyable. In the same league as Balvenie 12. Good classic scotch with good fruit sweetness and rounded edges.

Edit: It’s not bad. It tastes like scotch, but it’s also kinda resin-y. Mostly malty must and caramel. I think I could sip it neat. Rocks might dilute any flavor right out of it. Had a hard time drinking this one neat, but it did well on the rocks in the summer.

Ok this one ranks up there with a few of my weeknight single malts. I enjoy the more rich character of this guy compared to its younger brethren, but it’s not quite worth the price point on its head.

VERY thin scotch, but at least it’s not peaty.

Had it years ago. I remember it more fondly than the black because it wasn’t as peaty. Still not great.
