Tastes

Very sweet with hints of orange peel and a mildly peppery finish. Not a bad rum for it's price but will become sickly sweet very quickly.

A very different taste. I got hints of overripe fruit and a little something savoury in the background, similar to salty, spicy cooked meat. Like a mild salami. Odd, not a sweet rum but it'll get people talking. Might not be for everybody neat and if you do go that way I'd give it a few minutes to breathe after pouring, otherwise it can have a rubbing alcohol smell that can be overpowering. Having said that, it does make an interesting rum & coke and would be a great gift for a rum fan.

Smooth and sweet. Extremely easy to drink. The taste is not what one would expect from the nose, which can be a like rubbing alcohol. Something I've come to expect from Bajan rum. Initially sweet and wood notes come through and after that I got subtle hints of roast coffee, leather and caramel. If you like Doorley's 12 year old, you'll love this. Very nice neat and with a mixer. A real all-rounder.

A nice rum for the price. When sipped neat subtle fig and toffee notes come through, though this is soon surpassed by wood notes followed by a slight heat that isn't overpowering. It's a classic and should be welcome in any drinks cabinet.

Tastes of rubbing alcohol with a little sugar mixed in. Indistinguishable from some vodkas, though, in fairness, I'm not a big white rum fan. Can be passable mixed with Coke.

It's very middle of the road, on the edge of being bad. Mainly deep caramel flavours followed by an alcohol burn. The taste can become sickly very quickly but if you can stomach it, you'll find it in most bars in the UK. See what else they have first though.

Very different to other coconut rums that I've tried. Cleaner and less artifical in taste. Makes some okay cocktails but didn't have a taste that I found palatable drinking neat.

Definitely a good winter warmer. Notes of roasted coffee, treacle and smokey caramel at the beginning with a sweet, brown sugar finish. Goes down smooth despite it's high percentage. Also makes a great rum & cola.

Big notes of fig and coffee come through immediately when sipped neat followed by more subtle wood flavours. Very clean and sweet. A lovely rum. Nicer than some more expensive ones on the market.

Wood notes hit first then a caramel richness comes through quite strong but doesn't linger. Similar to an American whiskey like Jack Daniels. It's not bad but for the price I'd much rather have the El Dorado 12 Year and a good few Pounds in my pocket.
