As any Amrut fan will tell you, 7 years for Amrut is not young. As a huge fan of the Indian malt I was ecstatic with all the tropical and cola flavors, but it had a subtlety with the macallan and glen Elgin that really smoothed out all the rough brashness Amrut can deliver in its own. To me it's a really cool idea and I was all over it. I think any Amrut fan should check this out for themselves if you want something unique.

As I come near the end of my bottle I can say that I grew tired of the sweetness and intense rum flavor. When I first opened the bottle I would have ranked it an 84 near the end it's a 78. Call it 81. You really have to be in the mood for something sweet...preferably rum

In a time that most distilleries are watering down their product to meet demand and make hay, so to speak. Kilkerran are new players in the game. Owned by Springbank family, you know quality is important but also they need to get their foot in the door of the market and establish they have a good product. They have done this by releasing an incredible whisky at a very low price. Future releases will unlikely be this good of value. It is a very simple, yet complex and old school whisky. I get lots of citrus, wax, butter on Toast and after a bit of time the fruits come through. Just enough peat to make things interesting. Buy it

This is a real treat. Lots of stone fruit, dangerously drinkable. Not a long finish, but very very good. Definitely best Irish I have had. This whisky is in my top 10 for sure. An 84 rating is embarrassing. They ranked jack Daniels #7 higher....

Again distiller is off base. An amazing whisky and quite lively for a 30 year old. An appropriate drink for ones 30th birthday, like mine.
