Very sweet nose with notes of marzipan, raisin, cherries, and a good touch of vanilla but not too intense on the latter. Good but not a ton of complexity, bourbon outweighing sherry just slightly. Sweet. At first, a slight almost metallic acidity similar to Arran, which leads into a sherried tobacco-leather note, followed by peachy and cherry bourbon notes with powdered sugar sweetness, a slight marmalade note. Need water to open it up - like sweet gasoline without water. Nice sweet finish but not terribly complex. Good, nice intensity and expression but lacking the sherry complexity I would like. Overall not completely worth price but alright scotch. I do like the flavour though, absolutely not bad.

Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal Cognac
Cognac — Cognac, France
Reviewed July 21, 2021 (edited December 23, 2022)Really lovely aroma of ripe pear, vanilla, and cinnamon. Sweet palate with oak, chocolate, and cherries, very smooth. Great cognac. -
Love it. So floral and gently smoky in a heathery way. One of my favorites. Very gentle in aroma, with a subtle honey sweetness, some orange, pear, marzipan, honeydew melon, rose water, ginger, and just a faintness of white pepper. Very elegant and soft, though almost so subtle that it really doesn’t stretch out the full potential of its complexity. Medium sweet, with a generous, though not very specific orchard fruit, caramel, honey, ginger, fig, and a delicate mizunara oak flavour that brings up a slight smokiness in the form of a touch of ash and a smouldering wood aroma. Almonds, oak, nectarine, and a touch of baked pear round it off A very pretty and different whiskey, with beautiful flavours and an elegant finish. Very mouthfilling as well, and incredibly smooth. This, to me, is a whiskey epiphany, as I’ve previously had with Glenmorangie 10 - one of those expressions that just hits everywhere you want it to.

Sweet on the nose, with vanilla, baked apple, honey, and a complex leather and coffee note. Relatively sweet on the palate, with heather notes upfront, along with a whisp of smoke, and continued apple, leather, and tea, with decent tannicity. Beautiful scotch, though the sweetness borders on being syrupy with little balance restraint it. Still good.
