High West American Prairie Bourbon
Bourbon — (bottled in Utah), USA
Reviewed September 23, 2022 (edited November 2, 2022)This pleasantly Surprised me. It was offered at a friend’s home and I found it very enjoyable. I read the “Distiller” blend description and find the standard bourbon nose and tastes. Rich vanilla & caramel scents, cinnamon & spice flavors, and a 92 proof point that doesn’t overwhelm. It’s good neat and tastes much different on a big rock. Readily available here in PA and I find it to be a value at its mid-$30s price point so I’ve added it to my rotation. Cheers! -
Wow! Vanilla and Butterscotch come through heavily and pleasantly on the nose. It’s not your Grandpap’s Rye. In fact, it definitely doesn’t taste like a Rye Whiskey. Very unique and special. Wonderful finish with a long, pleasant palate. Not your everyday sipper because of the price, but definitely worth the price. Pairs beautifully with chocolate. Wanna impress your friends? Give ‘em a dram of this Rye. Top Shelf placeholder.

George Dickel 15 Year Tennessee Single Barrel
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 18, 2022Butterscotch and vanilla on the nose. Very nice! Cinnamon and oak on the taste. Water and/or ice really change the finish in a nice way. Neat or on a big rock, this is a solid “Whisky” -
Ezra Brooks 99 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 16, 2022 (edited July 25, 2024)Solid 4⭐ for taste, price, uniqueness, and availability. I live in PA and our State Store system doesn't provide much in the way of options & availability. EZRA 99 is a solid bourbon for every day sippin. Great nose and palate. I get a lot of the standard bourbon scents & flavors, but in this I actually pick up sweet peanut brittle in the first sip. I'm glad I met EZRA 99. Cheers 🥃25.0 USD per Bottle -

Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon

Reviewed January 16, 2021 (edited December 6, 2023)Wonderful Bourbon. Nose of Cinnamon, Baking Spice, and Vanilla. Taste has a nice Alcohol bite, with more sweet, Cinnamon spice. Long lasting, spicy finish with hints of peanut. It’s an attainable purchase, unlike Blanton’s, well worth the price.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 16, 2020Definitely has a fuller nose than regular ol' WT101. I get nice spice and hints of citrus and sweetness. The palate is sweet with that familiar taste of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon. It has that really nice Wild Turkey rye bourbon flavor with notes of leather and oak. The finish includes a nice brown sugar and cinnamon aftertaste. Its deeper, more flavorful, and more balanced than WT101. Definitely a step up in flavor and in tasting experience. Drink it neat or on ice. If you're a Wild Turkey fan looking for a bourbon for mixing cocktails, stick with WT101 and save this for a special occasion.55.0 USD per Bottle
