Elijah Craig 21 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 22, 2019 (edited February 16, 2021)Haven't had too many of these, but there seems to be quite a bit of variation. Barrel 154 (12.20.90) was excellent, barrel 21 (10.31.90) was an astringent, bitter, watery mess. -
Peach Street Colorado Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Colorado, USA
Reviewed April 22, 2019 (edited April 23, 2019)My notes have an angry face next to "gross 2x4s." No thank you. -
Ardbeg Drum (2019 Committee Release)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed April 22, 2019 (edited July 11, 2019)Sweet Ardbeg smoke. Given my prejudice against rum I was delighted that I couldn't pick up a hint of it anywhere. As with most of these committee releases, they've been enjoyable but the price creep keeps me from buying a bottle; I'm happier getting ~3 of the 10. -
The Senator Barrel Proof Straight Rye (Fall 2018)
Rye — Indiana, USA
Reviewed April 22, 2019 (edited July 4, 2019)Had this double blind and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely didn't pin it as MGP's 95/5 mashbill as there was zero dill so I wonder if it's their 51% rye? Either way, it was pretty good. I'd buy a bottle at ~$60, but not the $100+ folks are trying to get for it now. -
Booker's 30th Anniversary Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 16, 2019 (edited May 23, 2019)Taste's like Booker's. Disappointing. -
