Translucent amber in color. Plenty of warmth tickling the nose but aromas of leather, wood and baking spices come through. On the palate, brown sugar, fruity and spicy notes and continued warmth right through the finish. Slightly creamy and rich mouthfeel. Complex and flavorful, excellent from beginning to end.

Cooperstown Distillery Beanball Bourbon
Bourbon — New York, USA
Reviewed February 11, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)Butterscotch aroma with a little spicy note. A little less than medium bodied, smooth with a tickle of burn on the tongue. Spicy flavor, even a little fruitiness, I'm thinking red apples. I really enjoyed this. Plus, I'm a huge baseball fan but that bias did not affect my opinion of the whiskey. -
Tomintoul 16 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 4, 2018 (edited September 29, 2019)Pricey for an entry level quality whiskey. A slightly nutty, grainy aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, slight warmth and flavors of vanilla and just the barest touch of sweetness. One dimensional and straight forward, feeling young for a 16 year old dram. -
Oban Little Bay
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 28, 2017 (edited November 1, 2020)The color of honey. On the nose, apples, caramel, honey, a slight alcohol tingle. On the palate, a continuation of the apples mixed with spice, particularly clove, oak, a touch of smoke. Medium bodied and very complex. The finish is relatively quick and bitter like that of good black tea but the spiciness lingers wonderfully. Really an excellent dram, especially for the price. -
