Tastes

This is an astounding whiskey, and lives up to the hype.  You should definitely find some to try. Nose: Sherry , Orange, cooked fruit, fruit, peach, baked bread , Cantaloupe, apple, apricot. Taste: continuation of flavors from nose, and Orange rind, moderate mouthfeel, berries, alcohol, spicy , smooth, delicate, sherry influence. Color: Beautiful light tan color Finish: long lasting finish, same flavors. Light smoke. Beautifully balanced. Very refined  In glass, cooked fruit, peach, spice, sherry, brown sugar, sweet. Vanilla and walnut. Cantaloupe, apple, apricot. Needs time in glass to open up. Purchased a bottle from fine drams in 2021 as a special treat.

Highland Park, 14 year old, 2004, connoisseurs choice Gordon & mcphail First of all, 59% AB, too strong for me. I had to dilute it down and even then not happy with the results. I wasn’t able to find the right dilution with my small sample. Aroma peaty, alcohol , strong, bacon, cooked fruit It seems to be that most of the nice qualities of normal Highland Park are hidden by peat and the heavy alcohol. Complex and unusual well aged whiskey Nose: strong Peat,, sweet, Fruity, toffee, nice and complex, very appealing Taste strong At first, then cooked fruits, Toffee, small campfire/charcoal, vanilla, slightly minty… Finish medium long dominated by Peat Everyone seems to have a different reaction to this unusual whiskey. In part, I attribute this to the unusual mix of flavors, but also to the shifting palate. Certainly, it is difficult to describe, and is also changing and different every time I Taste it. Aberlour 18 is a Rich and complex dram After my previous sample, I decided to purchase a 50 cL bottle on sale and very pleased Aged in bourbon and Sherry casks, 43% ABV Color is a beautiful dark tone Nose scotch,Butterscotch / toffee , slight citrus note , Vanilla, complex wonderful Body smooth very appealing, Cherry, raisins, fruit, slight chocolate, Orange peel Finish medium long, warm and Smooth butterscotch/maple syrup Glass left with maple syrup At the end, you just want another sip...

Very nice and very well integrated Rum cask aged whiskey Nose: light and smooth, sweet, rum Taste very nice, delicate, cooked fruits, Sweet, rum Finish short but nice At 21 years, this is very well integrated, but a bit expensive However, exceptional with food, such as fresh raspberries 3 cL
