Highland Park Cask Strength Edition (Scandinavian Release)
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed May 21, 2020 (edited October 15, 2020)Compared to 12 yo, Ambassador's 10 yo, and Valfather (blind test) this one was the least special, a little too generic and only OK. Still, it is Highland Park and it is really nice. Ended up using it to increase the 12 yo's ABV to about 46, and for that it is superb! -
Not a bad blend at all. Sweet, gentle, smooth, fruit, honey, bready, balanced, but light, short and very easy. Pretty good consider what it is. Also tried with a dash Tomintoul Peaty Tang which gave it depth and made a very happy dram. Laphroaig works too, but the Tomintoul version was happier. Wow.

Highland Park Valfather
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed March 21, 2020 (edited September 5, 2020)Beautiful. Light friendly heathery, wooden or a tad of forest smoke, vanilla and soft baked fruit, very mild coffee. Richer than HP12, round, smoke, subtle and integrated. Great! A bit short.
