Very light and bright sweetness with hints of honey and apple. A slight wheat flavor with a peppery finish and butterscotch aftertones. Very drinkable and punches above its price point.

Honey, wheat and apple on the nose. A nice deep golden, almost amber color. The first taste produces a light, sweet honey flavor with a wheated feel. A light spice follows with a metallic finish. I’ve read so many good articles highlighting this bourbon, but was disappointed in its almost tinny flavor and lack of depth.

Nice spice, great rye characteristics.

Quality rye you would expect from woodford. Smoky and slightly sweet with a great profile.

For a wheated bourbon, this really fits the bill. The first taste provides a bright and sweet finish of lemons and sugar. This brightness is followed by a light smoke and sweetness that rounds out the middle nicely. Following this is a smooth maple syrup with an earthy undertone of grass and wheat. Great expression of the wheated bourbon category and a must try for those who want a Weller or Van Winkle.

Smooth and sweet with a slight bite to round out this charcoal filtered whiskey. The best way to describe this whiskey is to think of it as a cousin to Jack Daniel’s. The story fits the bill as this whiskey has that mellow, soft front end on the palate and moves to a smoky sweetness that is typical of Jack Daniel’s. We’ll made and a great transition for Jack drinkers to explore another level of whiskey.

Toasted marshmallow and vanilla fill out the top notes of this bourbon. Hints of leather and smoke round out the mid notes, followed by a slight burn from the high proof. The sweetness in the beginning really rounds out the flavor and smooths the alcohol sting. Great expression.

Strong maple and caramel on the nose, followed by a smooth leather scent. The first taste provides a solid, sugary caramel flavor followed by an intense maple flavor. The next level hits you with a solid pepper and leather front with a hint of beautiful smoke to follow. Typical spice and smoke of a rye, but with a smooth and sweet maple and sugary caramel to round out the bite you usually get with a rye. Very nice experience!!
