Tastes

Aroma of fresh baked chocolate. Tastes like the whisky equivalent of dark chocolate brownies. Lurking in the background is a hint of pipe tobacco. An excellent after-dinner whisky.

Very drinkable. Perhaps one of the most accessible scotches I've had. My personal dislike of anise (there is an anise note present) is why I won't score this higher.

I got a distinct taste of apples and a little bit of ginger and black pepper.

If you're an Islay drinker, this is a lighter and slightly sweeter option without leaving the island. If you're a a Speyside or Highland guy or gal looking to venture on to Islay this is a good place vehicle to get there.

Got to try this thanks to a friend. We both tasted it several times and the shared response was "what?" It was fruitier and sweeter than I usually venture to go, but despite that my real takeaway is that even after multiple tastings I still have no idea how to describe it other than to shrug my shoulders. It's getting a 2.5 because it's as down the middle as could be.

An easy sipper. Compared to the 12 this one has more depth, a longer finish, and overall more enjoyable.

I expected to like this more than I did. It was alright, but this smokey highland was a tad odd for my palate.

It went right from intense smoke to dry. Never got much sweet. Tastes like a BenRiach, which I like, but was expecting more from the hype.

My first NAS Macallan. Very rich and an almost silky texture. I'd happily drink more if I had the opportunity.
