Given the hype around this, I expected it to blow me away. The nose is sweet and the palate isn't as sweet as the nose would suggest. It's a very complex whiskey. Also a unique finish I can't even put into words. I have a dram maybe once a week. It doesn't pull me to drink it regularly, despite the fact it's quite complex.

Nose is sweet. Makes me think of caramel and candy corn. I hate candy corn, but not in this case. This is like dessert. It's not terrible complex, but boy the palate is sweet, and the finish is golden. Adding water somehow makes it even more sweet but for some reason it's never overly sweet. I couldn't drink this every day, but it's a perfect treat.

Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed February 28, 2016 (edited May 5, 2017)The best Johnnie Walker colored label. Affordable yet complex. I still can't sort out all flavors during the palate. Vegetal? A tad fruity and salty? The finish is medium length and interesting. You can make out the smoke and pepper of the Talisker and the peat of the Caol Ila. A hint of oak ( I think? ) on the finish. Adding water allows you to better differentiate the rich palate and amps up the peat, but tones down the pepper.
