The “world’s first and only Patagonian Spirit”? Well, that definitely catches some attention! It is a very interesting and unique spirit, sort of a cross between a colourless fruit brandy and a botanical gin. The flavors and aromas are quite delicate yet complex enough to make it hard to describe. There is citrus, floral, sweetness on the nose, and herbal, earthy, dryness on the palate, yet it all comes in layers ending in a smooth finish. Whether you are going to like it or not is going to be more a matter of personal taste of the ingredients, than the quality of the product. I’ve had it neat, on the rocks and, in basic cocktails. I’ve enjoyed but, I also feel that it doesn’t always work well for me.56.56 CAD per BottleLegacy Liquor Store

Basil Hayden Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 18, 2021 (edited September 25, 2021)A light, easy to drink Bourbon, it’s got just enough sweetness and spice to keep it interesting but, definitely lacks some depth of flavor and character but, that might be what you’re looking for, just a smooth and enjoyable sip.55.95 CAD per BottleLCBO -
Maestro Dobel Diamonte Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed August 10, 2021Smooth and clean tequila blend but, perhaps, a little too clean? Muted aromas and mild flavors carried by alcoholic notes, although not harsh. A little herbal and peppery.64.95 CAD per BottleLCBO -
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 5, 2021 (edited October 17, 2021)I was looking forward to enjoying this Glenlivet expression but, unfortunately it didn’t live up to the expectation. There’s definitely Glenlivet’s DNA in the bottle but, the rum cask-finishing didn’t really add enough identity or character to it so, the execution fell short. It is not “bad” but, it’s not worthwhile either.59.9 CAD per BottleLCBO -
Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 5, 2021 (edited September 21, 2021)A quite good all-around bourbon for a reasonable price (not so in Canada). Good flavors with just enough sweetness and smoothness to sip it, preferably on the rocks. It’s not too complex but, it’s enjoyable without getting boring.48.3 CAD per BottleLCBO -
This is a great small batch Irish gin, authentic and smooth. You can easily pick the juniper and citrus notes, however the maritime profile is very prominent. Unfortunately, that’s also the reason why it didn’t get a perfect score. I’ve tried maritime gins before but, I felt that the seaweed was too savory. I tried it neat, on ice and in G&T. It went well although I ended up sticking to the tonic to balance it out.67.05 CAD per BottleLCBO
