Tastes

Spicy, but a little thin. I'm getting mostly wood and spice, oak forward. It reminds me of a thinner knob Creek. Some thickness and it would be amazing. I like how the spice lingers on the tail. I taste darker spices, black pepper and such. Good mouth feel, just missing that richness. There is a sweetness there but it's subtle

Good balance, has a little sweetness underneath. For some reason I taste peanuts?

A little harsh on first tasting, but then develops into a tail of cherries that lingers forever. Super clear flavor, really enjoyable.

Rich and heavy from age, and like most Japanese whiskies I taste mostly wood. it's much more mellow than most I've tried, which makes it more enjoyable.

Very basic bourbon blend. above average and very enjoyable, but nothing really stands out to me. vanilla and wood take the lead. Good if it's available but the 101 is superior.

Grain forward, but then afterwards the grains step back and let the wood control the tail. Minimal burn, mostly oak, very light and not super rich. Some salt as well. Love the vanilla and wood flavors that it let's take control, very good.

pretty strong and grain forward. little too forceful and not anything beyond the grain for my liking. Water opens it up and cuts a lot of the harshness, makes it much better. Only the age saves it from mediocrity.

Super light, lots of spices and mint on the tongue. Thinner and brighter than what I care for in a Rye, but above average for what it is. I feel like it would be really refreshing during the summer or with soda.

A little more rich than I'd expect from something so cheap, but not much flavor at all. Pretty meh. The mute flavors mean nothing is really offensive.
