Deep peat smell, with a sweet undertone. Incredibly strong peat flavor with a sugar cane sweetness underneath, flavor matches the aroma almost perfectly. What I love is the strength. Super powerful aggressive flavors that hit you like a truck. There's a super long smoky tail with Rich spice. A touch behind the ardbeg Corryvrecken for me but damned close. The Barrel Thief

Sweet floral smell, pretty light color. Mostly grain and wood on the tongue, but it's a bit stronger than most Irish whiskies I've tasted, which I like. I get and wonderful sweetness of light fruits on the tail, apple and pear, which is longer than expected. I like this better than the 15 personally. The Whisky Bar

The fifteen year seems to have lost some of 12s bite, which I actually enjoyed. It's much smoother and I think a bit more fruitier behind the grass, apple and green grapes. Shorter tail but without any of the burn or heat of the 12, so I'm not as fond of it. I find it more complex though. Bright grassy tail. The Whisky Bar

Deep strong wood aroma, smells like a barrel proof whiskey. Subtle sweetness underneath though, maybe cherry. Reminds me of knob Creek. Super aggressive creamy flavor, high alcohol burn, but more sweet than wood at the start. Beautiful complexity that flows well. Oak definitely dominates through the tail. A little water let's the sweetness shine through. The Whisky Bar

Reviewed January 6, 2020 (edited May 10, 2020)Beautiful sweet peat smell. Thick rich body that spreads over the tongue, let's the flavors linger for a very long tail. Balanced peat and sweetness, just like the 10 year. Shares a lot in common with the ten year, which to me is perfect, but I'm keeping it just short of 5 because in gaining the extra strength it loses its balance. -
Super flavor forward, oak and vanilla sweetness that hit super hard. Good flavors, but it's so strong that it throws off the balance a bit. Definitely better than having the opposite problem, but it's kinda distracting. A favor bite, not an youth or alcohol bite, which is a first for me. Would probably make an incredible Manhattan. The Whisky Bar
