James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Rye (100 Proof)
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed January 21, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Has the character to be a great mixer, but not a sipper. Unabashed alcohol on the nose, with hints of orange and lime? Smooth sip with lots of floral and fruit that lends itself to a nice old fashioned. -
Leadslingers Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Oklahoma, USA
Reviewed January 17, 2017 (edited November 25, 2018)Sharp tones of rubbing alcohol mixed the burnt rubber. Terrible. -
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 16, 2016 (edited October 2, 2017)Everything bourbon should be. Smooth, caramel, and cheap. Best sipper under $30. -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 16, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Beautiful bottle on the bar. Not worth the price. -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 16, 2016 (edited May 18, 2017)The best bourbon out there under $100. Fairly sweet, lots of oak, smooth, and amazing. -
TX Blended Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Texas, USA
Reviewed December 16, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Simple nose. Sweet caramel, tons of vanilla, smooth. Candy in glass form. I love this whiskey, but you have to understand that it is not a standard whiskey. It's very sweet. Makes a killer Manhattan when you balance it with a heavier, chocolatey bourbon.
