Gentle gold. The soft golden glow is a fitting introduction to this ballantine stalwart. On the nose I found oak and honey without the traditional alcohol kick. Easy on the pallet with a short to medium spice finish. If you're looking for everyday drinking whiskey. I believe that this is the most reliable, affordable and enjoyable blended scotch on the market. It's cheap but drinkable.

The Picasso of all whisky. Very much like Picasso I can respect this whisky although I don't really fancy it. It would be insane to deny this whisky the credit it deserves. The craftsmanship, character and spirit of Laphroaig shines through, it is an undeniable masterpiece! But like art, taste differs. This whisky is just to much for my senses. On the nose it is pure muscle! Wet leather, seaweed and sweat overpowered every fibre of my being. Peat ripped through my pallet in such a manner that I wasn't sure i would ever be able to taste anything else. The finish is the longest I've ever tasted! It goes to the back of your neck and will stay there until you wake up the next morning. In short, if you were to squeeze Chuck Norris, I am 100% convinced that juices left behind could be collected and bottled as Laphroaig 10 year old whisky.

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 8, 2016 (edited November 6, 2016)Whisky meets port? One can be forgiven for confusing this dark ruby colored whisky with a shot of port. On the nose it gets even more confusing with the smell of dark chocolate and sweet port gently caressing your senses. On the pallet this lady in red becomes a whisky! It is a fantastic experience when your tastebuds reveal the true nature of this subtle whisky. Oak lingers in the medium finish and the entire experience leaves you wanting more. A beautiful whisky, but be warned, the bottle won't last very long. -
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed January 7, 2016 (edited November 6, 2016)If it was possible to bottle the smell of wild flowers and barley, I believe these guys achieved it! One of the best tasting whiskies I have ever tasted. The nose was filled with wild flowers and the spirit of Islay. Bourbon on the palette was complemented with a strong finish of barley. I hate the bottle but fell in love with the whisky. -
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 3, 2016 (edited February 4, 2016)Very good value for money. One of the best introduction whiskeys I have ever tasted. Orange zest was dominant on the nose and the spicy character was not overpowering on the palate. A very enjoyable and affordable option.
