Total hangover tequila!! This is not good to drink or mix in anything. A mixto, it says “made with Blue Agave” I think it’s like 51% Blue (aka: Tequilana Weber) agave in order to be called a “tequila”. And the other 49% is sugar cane or other types of low quality plants and who knows what else. Always look for “100%” on the label. If it’s called “Tequila” and says 100% then it’s made with 100% Blue (aka: Tequilana Weber) Agave.

When it comes to tequila cocktails, this is fantastic. The best silver tequila for individual Palomas and margaritas! It imparts the perfect flavor in a classic margarita. Very smooth (a little too smooth) and great on its own too. Best agaves and production processes are used hence the Great quality! Patron got me back into drinking tequila after the horrible Cuervo experiences when I was young. They care about making great quality tequila. May not be the best tasting but that’s subjective anyway. Patron has the knowledge, capacity, capability and the willingness to compete with the like of Fortaleza and I have a feeling they soon will by improving their baseline tequilas. Definitely underrated!

I do get hints of vanilla, and floral notes with flavors of sweet agave and toasted oak. On the back of the mouth I get sweet warm cinnamon cloves or nutmeg spices with more vanilla. Very smooth and elegant. Great for sipping and shots with a lime wedge.

Another one of my favorite sipping tequilas. It’s great poolside with a wedge of lime. Nose: vegetal, sweet. Palate: vanilla, allspice. When I want a break from scotch, this is it!
