Patrón Silver Tequila

Introduced in 1989 along with their Añejo release is the now iconic Patrón Silver Tequila. Co-founded by John Paul DeJoria (of John Paul Mitchell hair products), Patrón first introduced the world to "ultra-premium" tequila. Their standard line is produced by using half tahona-crushed agave and half modern roller-mill crushed agave. The agaves are slow-roasted in an oven before fermentation in wooden vats. Francisco Alcaraz is their Master Distiller & Blender who created the recipe for the tequila and produced it at the Siete Leguas distillery until they built their own in 2002. Their agaves are sourced from Los Altos in Jalisco.
Tequila BlancoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is typically unaged , clear, and bottled straight after distillation. Sometimes rested in stainless steel up to 60 days and can also be aged in wood for no more than 30 days.
"The aroma lean towards powdered sugar territory, but doesn't overwhelm. Also present is a small dose of green agave leaves. The palate, while clean, is sharp and a touch sweet, but not very plush. There is little in the middle in the way of flavor. As you continue to drink, you'll discover a bit more in the aroma by way of lime pith and chalk which is also what you are left with on the finish."
