Nose: Sweet and Floral rose petals make their way to the front! Absolutely fantastic barrel sugars follow closely bringing along honey and vanilla notes. Very fruity with orange peel and strawberry accents. This is so good! I could smell this all day. There is very little burn or astringent notes present Palate: Soft and rounded. The Orange peel and floral sweetness shows up immediately. Very light and delicate dram with crust honey. There is a slight oaky bitterness but it’s not overpowering and actually balanced out the sweetness quite nicely. Juicy fruit bubblegum also makes an appearance! Floral notes later do return but with less initial sweetness. Not super complex I think but very good at what it offers. Finish: Clean and pretty is what comes to mind. Does leave behind an oaky presence that’s slightly tannic. Floral and zesty fruit is the last thing I taste before it just kinda lifts away gently. Somewhat short finish that does leave me somewhat wanting and wishing for more.76.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: Smoked ham, raspberry, dark fig and strawberries. Very meaty with a fresh ocean and sea salt breeze. Soft peat. Balsamic Dressing. Vanilla and Mild Chocolate. Palate: A Brine peat at first. Lemon pepper and peel. It’s oily and rich. Get a lot of roasted Coffee bean, prune and bright fig. It’s fresh and well balanced. It’s not super complex but has a very good flow of flavor. Finish: Earthy with dark bitter Chocolates. Fresh peat and oaky vanillas. Very oily and mellow. Decently medium to long finish. Conclusion: A very enjoyable well balanced sweet and Smokey dram. Definitely worth a try or bottle pick up for a nice often sipper.

Nose: Smoke and tar, Dark, Meaty, peat bog and oak Palate: Slight vanilla that turns oily and smokey. Eventually hits with burnt tire, leather and very welcome peat funk. It’s full of dark meats and fig. Very rich and dark. Trace taste of charred bacon bits. I get a weird banana note as well in the middle…odd?? Finish: Long and mouth coating. Oily and peaty. Followed all by brined ham slight vanilla cream that is hidden underneath. Also, am I crazy or do I still get a banana cream note!?40.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: Wet Oak, Funky jump out the glass peat, Dark ripe Fig, Honestly not really much alcohol burn, Heavy brine ( coastal sea side ). Palate: Mouthwatering, Clingy, Oily, Viscous, Peat is there but it’s not nearly as strong as the nose, dare I say...soft like? Arrival is mostly Brine, Oak, Nutty, Bitter chocolate. The back palate is where the Fruit and Dark Sherry influence comes around. Little alcohol; The peat mellows it out nicely Finish: Peppery sensation on the back end, Slight ethanol burn, Lingering, Long, with Dark chocolate and Coffee grounds, oily, no ash or bitterness but more like heavy peat smoke like that of a cigar.55.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: Floral oaky sweetness. A very faint earthy smoke. Buttery Irish like barrel tannin. Apple Vinegar ( but less acid funk), overall very light with slight baking spice. Palate: I taste a good bit of Irish type notes. Same light buttery Christmas cookie and baking spice. The medium dark floral bitterness is present as well. There is some oaky barrel sweetness but it’s faint to me. It’s delicate light and pretty. Finish: Slightly dry and medium in length (sticks around longer than expected. I’m left with a a barrel astringency and floral bitterness. A light vanilla and floral sweetness present. Bitter melon fruit towards the end50.0 USD per Bottle

Compass Box The Story of the Spaniard
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed June 18, 2021 (edited October 15, 2022)Nose: Sherry/Red wine note is most predominant. A sour sweet red berry with an slight barrel oak astringency. Sultanas and spice. Fresh and crisp. Toasted sugars. Palate: Holy sweet Jesus is this a strawberry bomb! If you love a juicy, oily and sweet mouthfeel this is for you. Dark strawberry and raspberry lollipop! Chocolate covered cherries. Juicy fruit and dry red wine mix together seamlessly. A nice balance of sweet and bitter that welcome each other. Hats off to the blender here. Definitely a dessert after dinner Scotch. No burn and very ummm….smooth 🤷🏽😅🤦🏽♂️ Does offer a lot considering the 43% however if this was 46%< I do feel it would be a notch above. That being said what do I know…I’m no John Glaser 😂😂 Finish: Sweet and berry. Very little burn with a nice dry red wine and fruity after taste. It’s a medium finish that leaves gently and friendly. A lovely dessert and relaxing time. Score: 89/100 for me. For only being 43% it has a lot of good sweet flavor that I like in my Dessert style whiskies. Definitely a good sherry dram if you like a refreshening light strawberry.53.0 USD per Bottle -

Suntory The Chita Single Grain
Single Grain — Japan
Reviewed August 18, 2020 (edited October 22, 2021)⠀ Nose: Melted & salted Butter, slight Green crisp Grape, Grass.⠀ ⠀ Palate: Bitter Melon, butter, salt, hint of a tropical fruit (pineapple), lemon, bright, shiny, slight oak bitterness, friendly⠀ ⠀ Finish: Almost non existent, very quick and disappears, zero burn, no oil or “mouthfeel” left behind. ⠀ ⠀ Overall still not my favorite but for $35 a bottle I can’t complain. Very simple but very friendly. I think this would make for a better highball than neat pour...but that is just my opinion.⠀36.0 USD per Bottle -
“ A gift from Mt.Fuji “ or so they say ; this is an interesting dram from Kirin Fuji-Gotemba Distillery that is bottled at 50% and non chill-filtered! For a decent price of about ¥5000. It is cut with water that came from the snow caps of Mt Fuji that then flowed into the spring below.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Nose: Strong Malt and vanilla, slight peat and oak.⠀ ⠀ Palate: As soon as it arrives it’s creamy and sweet then presents Strong wood tannin notes, slightly bitter at first. A light peat note that accompanies a sweet oak, honey, pepper, and floral taste. I also get a lot of Rye like spice notes. ⠀ ⠀ Finish: Medium and oily mouthfeel. Dry, peaty aftertaste that also has that lasting Spice notes. Almost again Rye and Bourbon like with a strong ethanol Sweetish oak remainder.50.0 USD per Bottle
