On the nose, lemon peel, rubber, faint campfire ash, honey, and pine needles. Light and rounded mouthfeel. On the palate, more pine, lemon peel, rubber, and subtle ash notes, along with dried peach, and on the finish, some walnut. Finish is quite smooth and fairly long. Lacks the intensity of a single malt – but overall a pleasant dram. 3.25/5.00 – Quite Good (neat)

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 4, 2024 (edited September 6, 2024)On the nose, burnt sugar, vanilla, stewed pear, orange peel, and charred oak. Slightly tannic mouthfeel. Palate shows more charred oak, burnt sugar, orange peel, and vanilla – plus some cinnamon on the finish, which is short-medium. 2.75/5.00 – Decent (neat) -
Lemongrass, iodine, lime zest, and faint pine on the nose, along with a fair bit of ethanol. Light, thin mouthfeel. Palate is quite neutral for a whisky, with some more iodine and pine, and a bit of lemon – but overall lacking any intensity of flavour. Finishes short, with a bit of heat. 2.00/5.00 – Bad (neat)

Notes of coffee, vanilla, chocolate brownie, and wet potting soil on the nose. Rich, unctuous mouthfeel. Palate is very sweet, showing maple syrup along with more coffee, brownie, and vanilla notes. Sweetness persists through the finish, which is medium-length. Somewhat oversweet and out of balance on its own – but offers plenty of uses for mixing. 2.50/5.00 – Acceptable (neat)
