Yellowstone Hand Picked Collection Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 29, 2024 (edited September 4, 2024)Barrel pick from the SAQ. A nice dram but nothing really stands out. Spices, oak, some brown sugar and caramel. Medium finish. I was expecting a bit more impact I guess 😬. Let's see how it develops over time 👍80.0 CAD per Bottle -
Kilchoman Batch Strength
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 28, 2024 (edited August 5, 2024)Pff amazing from Kilchoman! Glazed smoked spare ribs in a glass. Sweet and smoky on the palate, more smoke and sweet fruits on the finish. Great summer dram. The abv is working well, no burn. Really enjoyable during this current heatwave 😎115.0 CAD per BottleBSW Liquor -
Amazing blended malt with Islay single malts! Smoke, brine, vanilla and dried fruits. It's like a Kilchoman Sanaig on steroids. Very intense and warming. The perfect ABV in my opinion. No need to add water and no burn. A long lingering smoky finish with subtle sherry notes, just perfect!90.0 CAD per BottleBSW Liquor

Edradour Caledonia 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 18, 2024 (edited July 19, 2024)Edradour, I just love this distillery! Dried fruits, baking spices on the nose. The palate is very sweet, full on sherry goodness. Chocolate, more fruits, spices on the finish. Medium long finish. Good mouthfeel as well, slightly astringent. Quality again from Edradour 👍 Cheers125.0 CAD per BottleSAQ -

Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 3, 2024 (edited July 17, 2024)Dangerously easy to drink with this abv, no burn (maybe I drink to much cask strength 😅)! Leather, tobacco, baking spices. Salted caramel. Very enjoyable and no wonder this Bourbon is so well appreciated 🍻80.0 CAD per BottleBSW Liquor -
New distillery with an interesting spirit. Fruity on the nose, some vanilla and also slightly herbaceous. On the palate it's sweet, barley sugar, more vanilla. The finish is a little bitter, faint dried fruits. Medium long. Overal very good, not super exciting though. Let's see how it develops over time 🍻SAQ

A peated Glenallachie basically, what's not to love? This is giving me sweet smoked meat vibes. I just love peat and sherry. The peat is moderate imo, not overwhelming. If I would taste this blind I would never guess this is only 5 years old. Not sharp or unrefined in any way. Can't wait for older expressions 👌99.0 CAD per BottleSAQ
