GlenAllachie 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 11, 2019 (edited September 24, 2023)After reading some great reviews I was excited when this bottle became available here in Quebec. All the boxes checked, it's a great one indeed! Fruity and nutty aroma's on the nose, a little sour note as well. Also some spice on the background most likely from the virgin oak casks. On the palate just great balanced sherry flavours, dried figs, grapes, apricots, a faint little salt and some bitter chocolat. Very well done. The finish lingers on for medium length. On par with Glendronach 12! Cheers all88.0 CAD per BottleMontreal -
Craigellachie 13 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 14, 2019 (edited September 24, 2023)First pour from my bottle, hard to get a lot on the nose, I think I'm getting a cold pff. The palate is very fruity up front, mainly apples or even apple sauce. On the finish I get nice spices, cinnamon and clove, followed by some bitterness and a pinch of salt. The finish is not overly long. I will get back to this one in a couple of weeks to provide a cold-free review. Cheers all80.0 CAD per BottleMontreal -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 10, 2019 (edited September 24, 2023)Beautifull classy bottle, looks great and I might keep it after it's empty to use as an infinity bottle! Very oily, long legs in the glass. Citrus, oak, vanilla and rye spice on the nose. It has a spicy palate, lots of cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is long, spicy, bitter, some salted caramel shows up. Wow, great single barrel rye from JD. If you would have me taste this blind I would never guess its from them. Definitely recommend this to rye lovers!60.0 CAD per BottleMontreal -

Benriach Quarter Casks
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 11, 2019 (edited February 11, 2019)Picked this one up at the duty free on Schiphol airport. I fell for the packaging and presentation of the whisky. I have a weakness for 46% ABV , no added colour or chillfiltration and I have had a really good experience with the Benriach 10 Curiositas. Very oily Scotch. Lots of oak on the nose, some tobacco as well. There's also a very subtle fruity note to the nose, green apples and lime. On the palate you get vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, coffee/cappuchino, toffee. The finish is medium long. A very unique Scotch, it tastes like lovely coffee ice cream in a glass. Very glad I picked this one up, cheers fellow addicts!95.0 CAD per BottleMontreal -

Laphroaig Càirdeas 2017 Cask Strength Quarter Cask Edition
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 26, 2018 (edited September 24, 2023)Sample review. I loved the regular quarter cask so to be able to try the cask strength is very exciting. Your typical Laphroaig nose of heave smoke and brine. The arrival is sweet with vanilla and caramelized bacon. The finish is long and peppery with peat, some salty black licorice and sea salt. Another great Laphroaig! CheersMontreal -
Aberlour A'bunadh
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 25, 2018 (edited September 24, 2023)Sample review. Batch 59, 60.9 % ABV. Oh my, the infamous A'bunadh, fantastic flavour! The nose is not as powerfull as the whisky itself, I get some nuttiness, faint sherry notes and alcohol. The palate is beautifull, full and rich, dark fruit explosion, delicious, spicy and sweet. The finish lingers on for a pretty long time. I will definitely pick up a bottle sooner or later! CheersMontreal
