Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A122
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 7, 2022 (edited November 23, 2022)β: Let sit for about 5 minutes. π: Deep dark mahogany wood with some copper and possibly ocher, reddish Mars tints here and there; π: Intense oaky wood hits, freshly picked cherries and enough ethanol to tickle your nose hairs, picking up some candy notes (possibly mint? Or maybe Ghirardelli 72% Dark), a little bubble gum at the end; π : Very mellow and subdued corn hints like fresh popcorn, hardly any burn at all, freshly baked sourdough bread somewhere in there, candy corn at the end with Andes Mints (definitely got that chocolate/mint interplay there); π: This is a beautiful finish, taste does not linger although I do detect something like you just bit into a cherry with those tannins, this is beautiful π No burn at all. You can go at this one for days and not get that ethanol burn you get with other whiskeys at a similar ABV. That candy and Andes reference is real! Nothin' but love! -

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 7, 2022 (edited August 3, 2022)Let sit for about 5 minutes. Uncorking. π: Light heather sunset notes, tears and legs abound, burnt orange and copper when held up to the light; π: Woody, vanilla bean notes, sweet buttercream, fresh apple pie, ethanol burn if you put your nose too close to the rim, some bananas foster at the end; π : Warm, pleasant oily mouthfeel, chewy, apples and stone fruits, speaking of apples it tastes like caramel apple on Halloween, baking spices on the back end, spicy and peppery; π: The taste definitely lingers in a good way, tastes like you just took a bite of Grandma's apple pie (btw my grandma never made apple pie lol π), also tastes like you bit into an apple, this allocated whiskey definitely lives up to its billing. -

Dry Fly Straight Bourbon Specialty Barrel #747
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed March 6, 2022 (edited August 3, 2022)My 2nd tasting of this. Let sit for about 5 minutes. π: Sunset copper, has long legs indicating high ABV, light glints off the surface; π: Light peppery tunes, subtle corn, still can't picture the unknown note; π : Immediate pepper hits, still that strange flavor I can't pinpoint, it is sweet at the back end though, but doesn't negate the weird flavor; π: Finish is mercifully short, but that bitterness does remain.39.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Let sit for about 5 minutes. π: Definitely darker and more warm amber than the Reposado, deep sunset limited π, legs dissipate; π: Sweet, mature notes of the cooked agave, a little oaky and even smoky, sugary, pecan pie!; π : Beautiful!, Schwing!, Sweetness of pears and plums, nothing but sweet, no hint of smoke I sensed earlier; π: Beautiful finish, can't say enough about this, like you licked a sugar cube, this is the best tequila I've ever tasted (thus far!)64.99 USD per BottleBevMo!
