Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 4, 2022 (edited October 25, 2022)Sweet caramel on the nose that insinuates the veiled spice to come. The palate is smooth like warm caramels dissolving in your mouth followed by the hint of spice that was foreshadowed earlier. Finishes in way that erases the sweet, leaving a long pipe tobacco smoke on the tongue. -
Kirkland Kentucky Small Batch Bourbon by Barton 1792
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 21, 2022 (edited January 12, 2023)Kept hearing that this is good for the price. It’s not. The ethanol drowns out anything good that’s happening below the surface. If I work hard I can get a nice honey flavor but it’s fleeting. -
Johnny Drum Private Stock Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 20, 2022 (edited December 13, 2022)Sweet vanilla notes on the front that linger into identifiable Willett spice, but to me better than it’s cousins Rowan’s Creek or Noah’s Mill.42.0 USD per Bottle -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 19, 2022 (edited August 26, 2022)Sweet caramel and toffee quickly gives way to something less sweet, almost charred and leathery, but not unpleasant. Leaving behind the sweetness again, coming full circle to where it started. Was able to get at suggested retail price thanks to PLCB without a markup.30.0 USD per Bottle
