Perfect smoke and a nice toffee undertone to finish. Has a bit of an alcohol bite at first then settles to a salty brine sugar melt. The smell perplexes me, I want to say it’s formaldehyde? Not a great smell and that may not be accurate but, tastes so much better than its nose which I now know is a mezcal tequila aroma. Very light almost clear in colour like water. Almost bought Ardbeg 10 instead but, glad I picked this up.

Served ‘up’ this is impressive and beats the Red Bush easy. I seem to be not liking anything served up after Red Cask aging. Love some red wines but, not with my whiskey. The original is where its at.

Very nice smokiness to this affordable scotch! Its got your peat and earthy notes and gives you that campfire warmness! Top 5 affordable scotches.

Picked this up without referring to my Distiller app and was surprised at its nicely balanced smoke with lightness. I cant afford the really expensive Scotch but, this cracks my top 5 for my budget.

This is probably the best tasting Scotch in the $60 range I have tried. Has a very smooth finish with notes of brown sugar and carmel. Its light and has a crispness to it as well but, think of allowing a Werthers candy to slowly melt in your mouth.

Was not expecting the smoothness. Clearly whiskey bite but, backed up with creamy buttery flavour of maple, not too strong, just right. Definitely will get another bottle in the future!
