Wow this finishes long. Nice. Has some heat there but a smooth combination makes it endearing. And the finish is fabulous. All the tastings previously made so no surprise except the finish that keeps on giving.

Ohhh, harsh. Ya it is up there in proof but beyond that it is harsh. Maybe a mix in with diluted aspects... hot toddy anyone.

Sweet sweet sweet then more sweet. You got molasses, toasted brown, syrup. Then the 51.5% kicks it. Peppery alcohol is there but not insane. Length is good, finish is good. Overall I am glad I ran into this when down in TX at Specs, but won’t get another at 56 bucks. Not a 93 in my book.

Apple juice that then transitions into a light weight whiskey that is a bit underwhelming, good intro whiskey if you like em sweet.

Waves of flavor! Oak with Carmel and a nice smooth flow into vanillas that come out and then fade off into a finish that doesn’t offend. A bit of harshness if doing a side by side of higher quality bourbons, but isn’t that always the case?

Yuck. Period.

This is impressive. I was not expecting this at all at this price point. I’m not an expert, only really tried five or six rye. I would take this over the Woodford, Overholt, bulleit, high west off the top of my head. smooth sweet and you still know it’s rye. Will get a bottle to try it in my favorite mixes to see if it should replace the old standard.
