Reviewed November 25, 2020 (edited December 7, 2020)Geetting worse since the bottle has been opened from 1-22-2020 its flavors are unmemorable and has the alchohol burn of a 6 year whisky. Possibly there is extreme batch variation annd I lucked out on a bad batch?? -

Macallan Double Cask 12 Year
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed November 19, 2020 (edited September 3, 2021)Not impressed at all and will not be buying again. May have to add other whiskies with much more tasty flavor profile just not to dump the bottle down the drain.I recently purchased a 6 yr. old Bruichladdich for $60 that just blows this Macallan away! I have to say that Macallan has gone downhill on these entry level core range whiskies . One of the most beautiful distilleries in the world thats downgrading their whisky in order to make maximum dollars. Im talking here of the entry level core range not the Thousand dollar a bottle for the high end buyers. This is a great example of how greedy owners putting the Sales/Marketting department as the most important in a company. Very sad to see Macallan go down this way. -

Springbank 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed November 14, 2020 (edited June 5, 2021)Open for 9 months now and ready to give my review. First looking at the color and the statement from the distillery is that its ex sherry and ex bourbon its very light in color so I beleive the sherry casks were of poor quality. The taste id just OK and there is a strong alchohol burn even watered down to 86 proof so I have to say not very impressed with this one and won't be buying again. It shows 54.8% so not sure what bottling year this is.Could be this bottling was a poorer quality of the other expressions with high scores here. Very dissapointing. -
