More color than the Founders Reserve, moving towards a yellow gold. Smells Speyside. Very bright and crisp aromas of apples, pears, and some citrus. Soft and supple on the palate with more apple notes, honey, and some barrel spice. Easy drinking. This might be the least offensive whisky in the world. But, a bit boring.52.0 USD per Bottle

Glenlivet Founder's Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 20, 2020 (edited April 10, 2022)Very pale straw color. Smells Irish. Apple, pear, vanilla and cream aromas. Very soft and delicate on the palate with orchard fruit notes turning more tropical. A bit of banana on the finish. Very light and easy to drink, but somewhat overpriced.42.0 USD per Bottle -
Vanilla wafers, mint, apricot, persimmon, and Vix cherry cough syrup on the nose. Malty and spicy on the palate with loads of sweet caramel-coated cookies before a surprisingly fiery Red Hot cinnamon and alcohol finish. A bit of an alcohol and oak bite, definitely more pronounced than the ABV would suggest. The finish is bitey and long with some pleasant fennel, caraway, and spearmint notes.32.0 USD per Bottle

Raucous and rambunctious aromas of burnt, buttered, diner-wheat toast slathered in grape and mixed berry jelly; deeply-singed campfire marshmallow and graham cracker smores made with cheap chocolate that's sky-high in emulsifiers and low on cocoa. Even the empty glass screams Smuckers raspberry jam and Midwestern grocery-store vanilla-coated espresso beans. On the palate, it's all honey butter, butterscotch, and toffee with nice barrel spice and marmalade on the finish. Never give this to an overly educated sophisticate or a young 'un. Cause it's just too damn much fun45.0 USD per Bottle

Oak, vanilla, caramel, spearmint, and cake frosting aromas are partially clouded by the fiery plume of heavy char and hefty ABV. It opens up more on the palate with plenty of sweet brown sugar, cinnamon syrup, spearmint, and peanut brittle before a pleasant buttery finish of toffee, cherry, and wood spice. While brash and alcoholic, it is more tempered than most affordably-priced barrel proof bourbons. Good value46.0 USD per Bottle

Glenfiddich 18 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 13, 2020 (edited November 29, 2020)Initially very demure with a similar aroma profile of the 12-year: plenty of vanilla, cream, and orange citrus fruit. However, as this bottle opened over several days, the nose was completely taken over by a dark, bready, musty, mushroom and teak wood aroma fitting of a stuffy library. Coupled with an abundance of figs, dates, cinnamon, and walnuts. Soft and smooth on the palate with a peppery alcohol pop on the finish not found in the 12 or 15yr. Save your money on two bottles of 12 and buy one bottle of 18.100.0 USD per Bottle -
A nice caramel color (probably artificial), Initially sports a candied vanilla, orange and cream profile before softening into a more nuanced aroma of honey, cream, musty wood, pear, apple, and spice. Very delicate and soft on the palate with subtle cinnamon and clove on the finish. Really pleasant and easy to drink. A little expensive in the US given the Trump Tax.45.0 USD per Bottle

Not your typical Ardbeg. Boisterous aromas of strawberries and cream, mint chocolate, sherry, vanilla, kumquat, and herbs. Creamy and rich on the palate with plenty of berry fruit followed by a building fire of barrel spice, oak, and alcohol. The entire whiskey is imbued with a thin vein of peat smoke, lime ash, and black pepper much like the appearance of a Morbier cheese.50.0 USD per Bottle
