Very earthy, with nice peat notes. Reminds me of Lagavulin, but maybe a bit less on flavor. I get more spice oak notes rather than dark rich fruits that you would expect. Having a rich body means it's not something I would take down in one gulp. This is definitely something you work yourself up to on your quest for palate levelling.

Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Special Reserve
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed November 24, 2015 (edited February 9, 2016)[Whisky Live Paris 2015] Same classic traits from the stanard offering, however they are pushed towards the background to allow for a little extra oakey woodiness. Certainly bourbon spice and sherry influences, however the texture takes on attributes of American oak rather than the Spanish. I wouldn't really call it a step up as I would call it a side step into different territory from old Tully. -

Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso (Travel Retail)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 24, 2015 (edited August 5, 2017)[Whiskey Live paris 2015] Very thick. Definitely sherried. Pretty harsh, light smoke. Felt like I was gnoshing on raspberries and strawberries. I was left feeling slightly underwhelmed, but It definitely has texture and punch to it. I would recommend if you're a Glenlivet fan looking for something more interesting. -
Kavalan Classic Single Malt
Single Malt — Taiwan
Reviewed November 24, 2015 (edited February 9, 2016)[Whiskey Live Paris 2015] Tried this after the Vinho Soloist. Maybe a little unfait because that one was friggin amazing. This dram, not so interesting, especially for the fact it's over 70$ a bottle!
