Nose (Neat): Sweet, vanilla buttercream frosting and yellow cake. Palate (Neat): Heavy spice and vanilla at first. Creamy fruit that fades fast back to the spices. The more I sip, the more I taste vanilla cream and a little less spice. Tastes sort of like creme brule or rum cake with whiskey notes instead of rum. Every glass I have brings me to appreciating this blended scotch even more.109.99 USD per BottleRiverside Liquors

$58 - Michigan. Nose (Neat): Light alcohol, sangaria, sweetness, a little char and tobacco. Palate (Neat): Light burn with sweet and floral notes. Rounded with definite hints of port and a minty finish over some chocolate. Very good neat. Do not recommend with ice, since the flavor disappears significantly with ice. Finish is long and makes me want to open up a bottle of lush red wine to enjoy next.

Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 27, 2015 (edited December 3, 2016)$44 - Michigan. Nose (Neat): Soft floral notes, light honey and orange. Palate (Neat): Very little burn. Gently sweet of light honey, citrus, some pear, floral and the tang of lemon zest. Smooths more as you continue through the dram. A great sipping scotch when you want to enjoy and not over think the complexity of the drink. I also believe it is good for an introduction of scotch for those who are new to the hobby and don't drink whiskey neat. -

Oban Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 30, 2015 (edited January 9, 2016)$100 - Michigan. Nose (Neat): Vanilla, floral, medium smoke and oak. Smooth sweet smell without any sharpness or bite to the nose. Palate (Neat): Medium alcohol burn on first sip. Starts with notes of caramel, smooth smoke and slight nectarine. Fades to slightly salted caramel and then floral honey. Really makes my mouth water after every sip. This scotch closely resembles a smooth single barrel bourbon. Would recommend this to a bourbon lover. -
Tomintoul 16 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 14, 2015 (edited September 29, 2019)$70 - Michigan. Nose (Neat): Vanilla, honey, butter and a touch of oak. Palate (Neat): Light alcohol burn. Tastes of butter, caramel, oak, slight mint and light kiss of freshly baked vienna bread. This is truly a gentle dram, as advertised. I drink a lot of bourbon and scotch over ice, but this is really so gentle that I do not. This is a great gentle scotch for the new adventurers to the scotch world, except for the price. I like it because it is not a complex drink profile. It is just simply easy to enjoy. -
$130 - Michigan. Mine is the red label with some whiskey from the closed Waterloo Distillery, not the LaSalle Distillery with the blue label. Nose (Neat): Sweet and Spicy. Vanilla caramel, toasted almond and slightly floral. Palate (Neat): Spice of the rye with light caramel hints. Super smooth with next to no heat or burn. Finishes with a slightly bitter butterscotch. Great for sipping and would not recommend on ice or adding water since this is very gentle. Very good, but there are better Canadian blends for lesser prices (Crown Royal Cask 16 if still keeping it in the Crown Royal family).
