On the nose you get light smoke and sherry with a hint of cinnamon. The first thing you notice when you sip is the viscous mouthfeel with cherry and vanilla sweetness accompanied by just the perfect amount of cinnamon and subtle smoke. As it finishes the peat smoke and cinnamon come out a little more as if it is smoldering for a decently long finish. This is now my new favorite scotch, I highly recommend it!

Pretty light bodied both on the nose and on the palate. Not bad, not great.

It sounds weird, but on the nose you get fruit and tobacco, which carries through to the first sip where you pear, pineapple, and a nice barrel spice that reminds me a little of Wild Turkey rare breed. The finish is medium long with the sweetness and tobacco becoming more pronounced. Big fan of this bourbon.

Lots of spice and a hint of cherry on the nose. Rich with a very balanced barrel spice to start then vanilla and orange peel to round it out. Finish is medium long and warming.

On the nose it's caramel and vanilla. First sip is a full and rich mouthfeel, with a sweet, nutty, and caramel taste. Finish is moderate with a light spice

Alot of the same flavors as special reserve like sweet honey and vanilla, but the 107 proof gives you that extra kick of alcohol and cinnamon. You get that cinnamon burn right off the bat and it lingers for a long and enjoyable finish.

It looks like regular Blanton's, it smells like regular Blanton's, but it tastes like they cut regular Blanton's. It's smooth, but lacking in flavor.

Not as impressed with this as I had hoped. Initially it's sweet with light spice and vanilla, but the spice gets stronger as the other flavors fade until you're left with a peppery bitter aftertaste.

The latest batch of Stagg Jr starts out like the rest with strong ethanol on the nose. On the first sip you get some heat from the 131.1 proof, but it's surprisingly smooth. The initial heat gives way to that mellow sweetness and vanilla you expect from buffalo trace with the perfect amount of uncut barrel spice and cinnamon to accompany it. The finish is long as the spice smolders like a peated scotch. Dropping a cube of ice in it helps to open up more of the flavors and get past the high proof. I wish this was more readily available.
