Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 14, 2023 (edited June 28, 2023)On the nose it's fruity with a hint of ethanol and char. It's smooth on the palate with a sweet mouthcoating vanilla and hint of spice. The finish is sweet and somewhat long. Not a bad pour.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Stagg Barrel Proof Bourbon 22B
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 3, 2023 (edited September 18, 2023)On the nose I get cherry, cinnamon, and ethanol. On the palate it's stagg, it's hot, it's sweet, and it has a warming finish. This batch seems to lack the complexity of others, I will agree from another reviewer that it reminds me of hotter eagle rare. Cinnamon overtakes the sweetness and potential other flavors and it transitions to a woody note. Not my favorite stagg (jr) batch, but it'll drink. -
Stagg Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 18
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 6, 2023 (edited February 14, 2023)The nose is surprisingly absent of ethanol, being 131 proof. I get oak, baking spices, and cherries. On the palate it's a dream. It's thick like a sweet cherry syrup, balanced by oak and char, with a building spice and warmth. The finish is long and very enjoyable. This stagg batch has some age to it, and it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being the 2021 GTS that wasn't released. So far, this is the best stagg jr I've ever had, it is almost comparable to GTS.56.0 USD per Bottle -
Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon (2022)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 9, 2023 (edited February 3, 2023)The nose on this has a surprising amount of charcoal, mixed with cherry and spearmint. On the palate it's a flavor explosion, HUGE sweet cherry notes with brown sugar and charred oak. The finish builds like a rye and goes on for quite a bit -
On the nose it's malty, toasted cereal with a hint of cinnamon. On the palate it's smooth and creamy. I don't get the aggressive spice or spearmint I'm accustomed to with a rye, instead it's a soft, slow building heat for a nice finish. This is one of the better ryes I've had.77.0 USD per BottleSouthern Spirits - Beer, Wine & Liquor Store

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C922
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 27, 2022 (edited February 10, 2023)On the nose I was immediately hit by caramel, followed by citrus, red hots, and ethanol. The palate is sweet, with a bit of oak and char, and a building burn. The finish is long and surprisingly oaky. Overall this is one of my least favorite batches of ECBP, I feel the oak and citrus overpower the whole pour.69.0 USD per Bottle -
Horse Soldier Reserve Barrel Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — Ohio, USA
Reviewed December 27, 2022 (edited December 28, 2022)On the nose there's a ton of ethanol. If you can get past that it's earthy, with corn and grain. On the palate I get cherry, vanilla, and cocoa nibs. Somewhat reminds my of old forester single barrel. The finish is like a cherry coke with a bit of burn on the back. -
This has a very interesting nose. I get overwhelming piney notes with citrus, assuming from being finished with aspen staves. The nose follows through into the palate with pine, citrus, and brown sugar. The finish is sweet, but you can't shake the pine taste. I would not buy this again, I think it's best to keep Aspen and bourbon separate. This goes up there with woodford masters 17 five stout as the worst whiskey I've had.
