Tastes

Citrus, caramel, char, and interestingly cinnamon apple on the nose. The palate is spicy at 137 proof, but the heat yields to a buttery vanilla and unmistakable rye spearmint. The finish is long and enjoyable. I liked this a lot more than I expected. Bravo jack daniels!

The nose is strong, almost harsh ethanol tones with a hint of corn sweetness and hay. The palate is surprisingly smooth with a grainy start then transitioning to a mouthcoating cherry vanilla note. The finish has a lasting back of the throat finish. Not a bad pour.

Fruit, grain, and nutmeg on the nose. Palate is light with cinnamon and green apple. Finish is interesting. Flavor fades and gives way to a light spice that sticks in the back of your throat.

Sweet and malty on the nose with no ethanol, the wheat jumps out of the glass. The palate is smooth and balanced, the sweet wheat punches through. The finish is long with a perfect amount of spice. I really enjoyed this.

Huge brown sugar and spice on the nose. The palate is smooth with vanilla, brown sugar, and cherries. The finish is long and enjoyable. Great pour!

On the nose it's fruity with a hint of ethanol and char. It's smooth on the palate with a sweet mouthcoating vanilla and hint of spice. The finish is sweet and somewhat long. Not a bad pour.

On the nose I get cherry, cinnamon, and ethanol. On the palate it's stagg, it's hot, it's sweet, and it has a warming finish. This batch seems to lack the complexity of others, I will agree from another reviewer that it reminds me of hotter eagle rare. Cinnamon overtakes the sweetness and potential other flavors and it transitions to a woody note. Not my favorite stagg (jr) batch, but it'll drink.

The nose is surprisingly absent of ethanol, being 131 proof. I get oak, baking spices, and cherries. On the palate it's a dream. It's thick like a sweet cherry syrup, balanced by oak and char, with a building spice and warmth. The finish is long and very enjoyable. This stagg batch has some age to it, and it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being the 2021 GTS that wasn't released. So far, this is the best stagg jr I've ever had, it is almost comparable to GTS.

The nose on this has a surprising amount of charcoal, mixed with cherry and spearmint. On the palate it's a flavor explosion, HUGE sweet cherry notes with brown sugar and charred oak. The finish builds like a rye and goes on for quite a bit

On the nose it's malty, toasted cereal with a hint of cinnamon. On the palate it's smooth and creamy. I don't get the aggressive spice or spearmint I'm accustomed to with a rye, instead it's a soft, slow building heat for a nice finish. This is one of the better ryes I've had.
