Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye (2020 Special Release)
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 12, 2021 (edited June 21, 2021)Aromas of caramel (or burnt sugar), banana, vanilla, and a hint of spice. Alcohol is surprisingly mild in the nose given the proof. Much more alcohol in the taste but it burns off quick leaving the burnt sugar and vanilla and finishing with banana that lingers on the back of the tongue. -
Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye
Rye — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed January 4, 2021 (edited April 23, 2021)Caramel, tobacco, and butterscotch in the nose. Some cinnamon spice mixed in with the initial heat in the taste. Some butterscotch sweetness being that finishing up with some lingering tobacco/leather. @aboutbeverages -
Widow Jane You'll Never Walk Alone
Blended American Whiskey — KY, TN, IN, USA
Reviewed December 19, 2020Aroma: brown sugar, vanilla, hint of dried cherry. Flavor: mostly matches the aroma with a wave of heat, that dissipates and finishes slightly astringent with some lingering cherry in the upper palate and oak on the tongue. Not as smooth as I would like for this price point but some really nice attributes none the less. @aboutbeverages -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B520
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 21, 2020 (edited February 21, 2021)In the nose, dark brown sugar, vanilla, and a hint of something savory (maybe some leather). Body is viscous, flavors are rich and cling to the tongue, definitely a long finish. Maybe a little less of the sweetness in the flavor and more to the savory notes with a hint of spice. Very solid alcohol heat on the palate and in the chest. Very smooth, especially for this proof. This is the rich deliciousness I expect from Heavan Hill.
