Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 30, 2021 (edited October 31, 2021)A delicious sipper. Sweet caramel and ale orange on the nose. Oily on the tongue with a cinnamon spice palate and a lingering light burn. A medium finish. Just too expensive, when it can be found. -
Lagavulin Offerman Edition Guinness Cask Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 21, 2021 (edited August 13, 2021)Peat followed by a creamy coffee nose Taste is a bit more sharp than the 16yr. Still has the smokey flavor, hints of meat, peach. Shifts to a coffee, bitter stout-like profile. Long, lingering finish that leaves semi-sweet chocolate taste on the tongue. Different than the classic 16, but delicious in its own right.
