Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or Sauternes Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 22, 2020 (edited March 1, 2021)Honeysuckle in a bottle. Oily and rich with minimal spice. A very light, honey-led dram with vanilla notes, butterscotch, custard, and a pear infused finish. Excellent change of pace from GM. (AT) -
Glen Scotia Victoriana
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed October 13, 2020 (edited November 24, 2020)Rich and malty with a caramel-spiced nose. Fruity and floral where orange notes stand out, milk chocolate, raisins, pepper-spice and a light hint of smoke. A surprisingly mellow dram, especially with the higher ABV. (AT) -
Glenfarclas 17 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 9, 2020 (edited June 16, 2021)The ‘Werther’s Original’ of Highland whiskey. A mild spice and fruity nose, with a butterscotch palate. Strays a little from the classic GF palate but overall a good, buttery dram of caramel covered scotch. -
Macallan 15 Year Triple Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 7, 2020 (edited December 22, 2021)As The Macallan’s age they really start to round out the rough edges. The 15 Triple Cask takes the ABV down and smooths out with a lightly-spiced, buttery vanilla influx. Straw-gold in color, rich texture, an excellent nose, and a velvet palate finish make this one a great place to start. Show me everything 15+. -
Balvenie The Sweet Toast of American Oak 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 7, 2020 (edited April 3, 2022)Egg nog, in whiskey form. The nose and palate are thick with sweet vanilla, raw honey, butterscotch, nutmeg, a hint of coconut and a light spice that says “Hey, is it Christmas?”. Awesome. Club taste (HA) - 11/25/2069.95 USD per Bottle -
Lagavulin 9 Year (Game of Thrones-House Lannister)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed September 27, 2020 (edited November 12, 2020)Oil, salt and brine. Fruity notes. Heavy peat and wood smoke. Band-aids anyone? With that being said I’m a big fan of Lagavulin, but this one misses the mark for me. Not bad, but not quite on par. (AT) -
Being near Islay I expected a much heavier peat, however this is a nice change of pace from a maritime whiskey. The nose is fruity and floral, and lasting throughout. Transfers nicely to the palate with hints of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, burnt sugar, apples and pears, cereal notes, and a minimal spice with just a whiff of smoke. What really stands out is the texture - velvety rich and creamy, with a true malt finish. A great showing from the Isle of Arran. Club taste (KM) - 9/24/2080.0 USD per Bottle

Glenlivet 12 Year Double Oak
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 23, 2020 (edited September 25, 2020)Like the Founder’s Reserve, The Glenlivet 12 is a great representation of the “every-day dram”. Nothing fancy, nothing over the top, just an honest Highland malt whiskey. Vanilla, caramel, a touch of oak, tobacco leaves and a hint of fruit. There’s beauty in simplicity. -
BenRiach 10 Year

Glen Garioch Founder's Reserve
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed September 12, 2020 (edited September 18, 2020)A cognac nose with a lot of heat up front. Dark fruits. Cinnamon. Caramel. Oak. Rich and tangy, but harsh on the finish. A drop of water? Make it 10.
