Mortlach 15 Year (Game of Thrones Six Kingdoms)
Single Malt — Scotland
Reviewed September 6, 2020 (edited June 24, 2021)Beautiful gold in color, with a sweet sherry edge on the nose. Nice depth on the palate - vanilla spice, almond notes, oak wood and a hint of smoke. A well rounded Speyside whiskey, and a proper lord of the Six Kingdoms. (AT) -
Dalwhinnie Winter's Frost (Game of Thrones-House Stark)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 4, 2020 (edited October 22, 2020)Vanilla spice. Vanilla spice. Vanilla spice. From pour to palate, from Winterfell to Westeros, malty, sweet and spicy all the way through. A nice addition to the GOT lineup. As headless as the house it’s named after. [rimshot] -
Glenmorangie Spìos
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 4, 2020 (edited June 1, 2022)Good nose, like Mandalay Bay and spicy coconut rum. Big cinnamon and minty clove notes on the palate. Rich, sweet, and generous spice throughout. Not bad, but a lesser favorite GM for me, as the use of rye casks isn’t my cup-o-tea, or dram-o-scotch rather. (AT) -
Macallan Classic Cut (2017 Release)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 4, 2020 (edited October 9, 2020)The 58% ABV is apparent, making this 2018 edition notably strong, and very spicy. Nice color, and legs that last forever. A profuse cinnamon burn on the nose. Vanilla, almond notes, and heavy sherry influence the palate, but in my opinion too bitter and sharp on the back end to really be enjoyable.99.0 USD per Bottle -
Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 22, 2020 (edited September 18, 2020)Heavy oak and pepper on the nose. Initial taste is abundantly sweet and spicy, almost cinnamon-like. Rich in flavor where the sherry cask shines through, and fruity with a good oak balance. Overall a nice seasonal whiskey, however, pushing the boundaries of too sweet. (AT) -
Honey oak and spiced pears stand out on the nose, with just a faint hint of smoke. Transfers well to the palate which is more of the same - not overpowering, mild spice, and a very minimal peat finish. A couple drops of water really open up the oak without muting the other flavors. A good, well-balanced 10 year, and an excellent entry level peat. Club taste (SK) - 8/13/2040.0 USD per Bottle

2019 Whiskey Exchange WOY hype made this one hard to find. Nice honey coat on the glass with legs that last forever. The nose is sweet and slightly minty with a hint of campfire. The palate comes in waves - Sherry casks stand out, followed by noticeable spice. Rich chocolates, honey, toffee, baked bread, and a mellow smoke finish. Worthy of the hype, filled with subtleties, and very, very good.🏆 Club taste (TG) - 12/28/20102.0 USD per Bottle

Glen Fohdry Dublaich American Oak Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 11, 2020 (edited September 18, 2020)My overall winner of a 3-part Glen Fohdry tasting (Dublaich, Aiteal an Oir, Fion Frangach.) Like the others, the nose is a little harsh. Sweet oak vanilla on the palate, not as spicy on the finish. Fruits are there, but hard to decipher. All 3 had a mellow burn on the back end. Closest to a Founders Reserve, but not as smooth and not much depth. (AT) -
Glen Fohdry 12 Year Aiteal an Òir Single Malt
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 11, 2020 (edited July 18, 2020)Spicy vanilla, semi-harsh on the nose. Oaky fruits up front, sweet and peppery on the back end. Nothing stands out, but not bad. Edges out the Fion Frangach in all aspects. (AT) -
Glen Fohdry Fion Frangach French Oak Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 11, 2020 (edited July 18, 2020)Had never seen this label before, diving in blind. Not many legs on the glass. The nose is spicy and has some burn to it. Initial taste is sweet and peppery, semi harsh at the end. Nothing lasting, and not nearly up to par with a GL Founders Reserve for the same price. My least favorite of a 3-part tasting (Fion Frangach, Aiteal an Oir, Dublaich.)37.0 USD per Bottle
