Nose- Brown sugar Body- Brown sugar continues into sweet tea with lemon Finish- Lemon and grassy notes finish it off This is a very easy to drink whiskey. It is decently smooth but lacks the flavor depth that I like such as the tongue tickling spice of a ryed bourbon or the smooth toffee or butterscotch of a wheated bourbon. It is just too middle of the road. Tried at Buffalo Trace distillery 2018. This was a very cool distillery with a lot of history and very friendly staff.35.0 USD per Bottle

Connemara 12 Year Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed July 31, 2018 (edited September 8, 2018)Nose Sweet vanilla, wildflowers and bacon. Meat is more pronounced than smoke here. Body- Bacon is prominent. Second sip gives you vanilla notes. Finish gives it grassiness that are like dried unsalted peanuts. I like that a lot. Shorter finish than Lagavulin (which it went against in our taste test) but a really nice, unusual scotch flavor profile..80.0 USD per Bottle -
Auchentoshan 12 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 31, 2018 (edited September 21, 2019)Nose- maple syrup and oats Body- oats sweetness continues Finish- grassy herbal finish This is an interesting scotch due to its triple distillation. It didn’t wow me but I found it very smooth. The sweetness and wooziness were nicely balanced.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon (2014)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2018 (edited June 23, 2020)Roses Limited 2014 Nose- Vanilla and lots of it! Body- Vanilla turns to honey and oats. The sweet tea tannins are there in the background. Finish- Medium finish Note- While ranking a medium in complexity, this ranks very high in flavor. The sweet vanilla and honey are immediately present here and stay with you throughout. Enjoyed this with the 1068 pubcast crew on our annual Drinkfest 2018!125.0 USD per Bottle -
Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2018 (edited February 1, 2019)Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary Nose- Cinnamon and pie crust. Some Krispy Kreme donuts maybe? Body- Russian tea notes of orange, cinnamon, and cloves. Finish. Sweet tea tannins here. This is a very complex bourbon where ever sip seems to give you a little something more. The current lead bourbon in our 1068 Pubcast blind taste test! It even beat out the Four Roses limited small batch 2014... barely.130.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose- Sweet nose with caramel and brown sugar notes. Body- Caramel and brown sugar continue. Very rich sweet tea with a smooth mouth feel. Finish- Very sweet finish gives way to pecan pralines. I like this a lot. It is very sweet and silky but without the oily tannins in some other bourbons. It coats your mouth without the bitterness of richer bourbons.75.0 USD per Bottle
