Tastes

Nose- Very light nose. A light pickle brine present. Body- Really light flavored. This is the mildest rye I have had and I really like it. Finish- Pickle brine and nutmeg. Note- Seriously the mildest rye I have had.

Nose- Body- Bright citrus. Definitely brighter than the Russell’s. Black pepper lingers in the background. Finish- Black pepper continues. Good but I like Russell’s better.

Nose- cinnamon Body- Tannins are present with sweet tea. There is a thickness to it (non chill filtering?) Finish- Leather and the sweet tea continue

Nose- Woody vanilla Body- These is very peppery on the tongue but a very smooth drink. Finish- Brown sugar and sweet tea. Notes- I like this a lot. Will buy this.

Nose- Vanilla Body- Bright with vanilla notes giving way to a bit of ginger and citrus. Finish- Short with lemon Note- Simple but not unpleasant. Beat Tullamore in our blind taste test.

Nose- Olive tapenade is very prominent with a sweet, smoky brine. Body- The briny tapenade continues into an incredibly easy drink. I really like this. Finish- Long finish with smoke and menthol coming through. Note- This beat out the Laphroaig quarter cask in our ultimate taste test.

Nose- Lots of vanilla Body- Vanilla and toasted oats Finish- Lemonade on the finish Very nice. Tried at the distillery.

Nose- cinnamon, black pepper, sweet tea. Body- Very hot on the tongue. Butter and cinnamon are present which gives an almost snickerdoodle flavor Finish- Mint and dark tannins.

Nose- Strong cinnamon with some sweet tea. Body- Cinnamon continues with brown sugar and sweet tea. Black pepper mouth feel is very evident. Nose- Botanical with mint and clove. Very nice! Very similar to Elijah Craig but a bit spicier in the tongue. A drop of water really opens up the vanilla in the nose and black pepper on the tongue.

This is the Bottled in Bond 100 proof version Nose- lots of cinnamon and vanilla here Body- very similar profile with Elijah Craig but the wood notes are a little harsher with some bitterness. This gives this a more tannin and leather body. Finish- Leather continues in the finish. Very good for the price.
